'Why do we have to buy Chelsea leftovers?': Arsenal fans shocked by Tammy Abraham links

In the past ten years, Arsenal have signed Youssi Benayoun, Petr Cech, David Luiz and Willian from Chelsea. These players were not needed at Stamford Bridge but our city rivals saw them as good enough to reinforce their squad.

And they are now heavily linked with a move for another Blues reject, Tammy Abraham.

The striker appears to be transfer-listed by Tuchel as the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa have reportedly expressed interest.

And these Gooners on the Arsenal Mania forum are unhappy to see their club linked with a move for Tammy.

Garrincha: "It's a bit sickening to be funding their move for Haaland but Abraham probably the best young striker we can get if only shopping domestically for some reason. Moise Kean maybe the other wildcard."

RunTheTrap: "It really shows Arsenal’s inferiority complex that we have over Chelsea. Why do we have to buy their leftovers to build our “winning mentality”?

"Why can’t we buy trust our own players to build such a mentality. Imagine if United signed a finished Kompany, Fernandinho or Yaya to try and bridge the gap. It doesn’t work."

Rex Banter: "Bit of a tap in merchant for me. Tall without being incredible in the air or having great hold up play and passing range.

"There’s a reason he’s been squeezed out of the line up by Giroud and Werner especially when the latter couldn’t buy a goal. Don’t think he’s cut out for a top level team.

"Also should have learnt our lesson with Willian and Luiz."

Jakarta: "If we didn’t have Balogun or Martinelli I could understand this but right now I don’t just get the point of bringing him in.

"He’s a decent striker don’t get me wrong, but he doesn’t strike me as a striker for a top 4 chasing side, if anything he’s a West Ham/Wolves/Brighton level player.

"His technique, hold up play leaves a lot to be desired. He’s basically a tall fox in the box striker. The thing that puts me off him the most is that despite his height he literally has no power or explosiveness... he’s just languid in style.

"I don’t see him improving beyond the level he is at at the moment. Plus £40m is a joke... better to use that money in positions we really need and then sign a top striker next summer.

"And oh don’t forget a 34-year-old Giroud has been preferred constantly over him...that should be enough of an alarm bell to any Gooner."
