Timo Werner opens up on personal and team ambitions for Euros

“As a striker, you should also work on improving your impact off the bench. At this level, it’s normal to be used as a sub at times. It’s important to show the coach that you can help the team,” Werner said in a press conference.

“At the moment, I’m outside the starting eleven, but I’m not the player who sits in the stands and sulks. You make yourself available for the team. Of course, I hope that I get playing time.

“We want to be involved right until the very last game. To do so, we have to bring all of our quality onto the pitch. The coaches and the team are working really hard on that.

“Two, two and a half weeks of preparation for the tournament will have to be enough, but we know who the opposition are. We’re ready.”

Timo Werner and Germany will start their Euro campaign on June 15th against France as they hope to make it out of the Group of Death.
