Chelsea reportedly demand Alex Sandro from Juventus in exchange for €40m-rated Emerson Palmieri

According to claims from Italian outlet Tuttosport, not always the most reliable source in the country, Juventus are unwilling to match Chelsea's €40 million asking price for wantaway left-back Emerson Palmieri.

The 25-year-old has long been linked with a return to Italy, with Inter Milan and Juventus rumoured to be among the interested parties, but it has been claimed that the Bianconeri are only prepared to pay a fee in the region of €25-30 million to acquire the services of the Italian international.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Juventus are seemingly reluctant to cough up that kind of cash for a player who has struggled to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge following his move to the English capital from AS Roma back in January 2018.

The reigning Serie A champions are reportedly ready to throw Mattia De Sciglio into the mix as a makeweight in a potential swap deal involving Emerson but Chelsea have already turned down the opportunity to do business along those lines.

The Blues are not completely against the prospect of a swap deal, bearing in mind the cash-strapped situation in the coronavirus-affected market, but it's understood that De Sciglio is not someone the club wants.

Interestingly, Chelsea are requesting an exchange with Alex Sandro instead, given that the Brazilian international is very much an accomplished name in European football.

Here's a recap of Emerson's first interview upon joining Chelsea:

Juventus are yet to make a decision on that and it remains to be seen whether the Bianconeri would want to part ways with the 29-year-old, who is very much a regular starter under Maurizio Sarri and has a contract until the summer of 2023.

Meanwhile, Emerson's agent, Luis Fernando Garcia, recently confirmed interest from Juventus in his client's services, although the representative stated that negotiations are currently on hold due to the pandemic.

The 25-year-old is apparently well aware of the interest from some top clubs in his homeland but made it clear in a recent interview that the next transfer window may not be the right time for him to depart Chelsea.
