Mikel Arteta has revealed that he had a chat with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger ahead of the game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking about what happened in the conversation, he stated: “I have spoken to him a few times about certain topics. About how they’ve won it [in the past] and the latter stages. He used to talk about it as well when I was a player, so that is always there in the hard drive.
“For this time? That at the end it’s about finding a way to win the game. And that’s it. You can do it in various ways, when you look at how they won their titles and how they won certain games, with very, very, very close margins.
“He always talked about that, about the fine margins and who is going to step up in the occasion to make it happen.”
Wenger helped Arsenal win three Premier League title in his tenure, which included the Invincibles run in the 2003/04 season. The Gunners are yet to win the championship since then and are hoping that drought can end in the 2023/24 season.
For that, however, Arsenal need to keep winning their last four matches and that includes a win over Tottenham Hotspur at their own yard after having been held to a 2-2 draw by the Lilywhites earlier this season.
