Former Chelsea winger Joe Cole believes that Declan Rice has the ability to become as influential as Patrick Vieira or Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal going forward.
Speaking to JOE, he said: “I mean Dec’s a great player, he’s a great player, but they have some all-time greats.
“ I’m sure in four year’s time we’ll be talking about Declan how we talked about Patrick Vieira and Cesc Fabregas and people like that, but I won’t embarrass Dec and put his name there yet, but he will be there that’s for sure.”
Rice has been enjoying a brilliant debut season with the Gunners, being one of the most consistent players in Mikel Arteta’s squad and producing excellent performances in big games in this campaign.
The Englishman has not just been the midfield engine who wins back the ball and redistributes it, but also gotten more involved among goals than he did at West Ham United.
The 25-year-old has scored six goals and provided seven assists in 34 Premier League appearances this season, including one assist in the 5-0 battering of Chelsea.
