Arsenal make transfer priority after Zinchenko nightmare in Aston Villa loss (reliability: 5 stars)

Arsenal fans were highly disappointed with the performance of Oleksandr Zinchenko in the 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at the weekend.

Now, as per The Athletic, the Gunners are looking to sign a new left-back in the summer window to add more depth to that position.

Mikel Arteta feels that he needs a new profile of left-back in his squad to help Arsenal compete strongly for major competitions next season, even though the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber can play there.

The Gunners are also yet to open contract talks with Zinchenko after his shaky performances in the 2023/24 season.

It remains to be seen if the Ukrainian full-back gets to regularly play for the Gunners in the final stretch of the campaign after attracting criticism for his performance against Villa.
