Two Arsenal players who impressed vs Aston Villa...and three who need to do better

Arsenal have been held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Aston Villa heading into half-time at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have dominated the majority of the game, creating a lot of chances and making Emiliano Martinez work.

However, Mikel Arteta's side just hasn't been clinical enough. Here are the players who have impressed and those who must improve.

Who have impressed

Martin Odegaard: The Arsenal captain is oozing of confidence and swagger, tormenting the Villa midfielders with his silky movement and passing. He's created a few big chances with his slick delivery and also opened up space for teammates with his clever link-up play.

Kai Havertz: Havertz has played smart behind Gabriel Jesus and is operating smartly in between the lines. He has completed 100% of his passes, creating a few chances and also getting two shots on target.

Who must do better

Gabriel Jesus: Jesus has lacked his ruthlessness in this key game. He missed an open goal-scoring chance in the 18th minute and been too keen to pass the ball to teammates than take shots from promising situations himself. Needs to be more clinical to get among the goals.

Leandro Trossard: Trossard has not exactly been the 'clutch' finisher he has earned a reputation for. Despite being involved in a few promising moments, he's not been able to convert chance properly and had a close-range attempt saved by Martinez.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Zinchenko has been slightly sloppy with his defensive work, attracting a lot of Villa's breaks through his side. Not being able to create much or cause problems with his passing yet, and looks vulnerable against the speedy counter-attacks.
