Arsenal 'suddenly stop' contract extension talks with Jorginho, one Italian club interested (reliability: 4 stars)

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arsenal have suddenly stopped all contract negotiations with Jorginho’s representatives.

The Gunners’ previous offer saw them give the Italian midfielder the chance to agree on a one-year contract extension until 2025, with the option of further extending it to 2026.

However, Jorginho has not accepted that offer yet and is now reportedly strongly considering a possible return to Italy in the summer.

Juventus are really interested in signing him if he becomes a free agent and are monitoring his situation at Arsenal.

Jorginho has become an important part of Mikel Arteta’s side this season, playing in that deeper role in Thomas Partey’s absence and allowing Declan Rice to flourish.

He has made 28 appearances for the Gunners so far, scoring one goal and providing one assist across all competitions.
