Balogun says he was inspired by former Arsenal teammate - not Jesus

Folarin Balogun still has fond memories of Alexandre Lacazette during their time at Arsenal. Both players will face off tomorrow when Monaco host Lyon in the Ligue 1.

 “I’m happy to see him [Lacazette] again on Friday because he gave me advice when we were both at Arsenal, and I was still a young player," Balogun said.

"Last season we talked a lot together when we met. He has a lot of experience. He is a clinical striker in front of goal, a good finisher. He is also capable of taking up space and making a connection with his teammates. I was inspired by his character.”

Balogun currently on the books of Monaco has scored four times and provided three assists in the league this season. Lacazette, meanwhile, has six strikes.
