Italy boss gives green light for Jorginho to play despite head injury

Italy's manager, Luciano Spalletti, has confirmed that Jorginho will be part of the team for the upcoming European qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine, despite sustaining a head injury during the match against Burnley.

During the Burnley game, the 31-year-old got a cut on his head from a high foot challenge by Jakub Kiwior.

Although he needed stitches after the match, Spalletti is determined to include him in the upcoming fixtures.

Quoted by Gianluca Dimarzio, Italy manager said: "Jorginho has stitches in his head from the last game and we have to be very careful, but we need his feet."

Mikel Arteta has chosen to play the Italian in the number six position, freeing up Declan Rice to play further forward. This pairing has been successful for the team.

Since Thomas Partey is injured until January, having the Italian midfielder around for the upcoming games is crucial for the Gunners. We hope he comes back safely after playing in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
