Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Gabriel Agbonlahor said: "Why is Mikel Arteta trying to do this experiment with Arsenal? Why are you playing with no striker? Why are you playing with a false nine?
"Why have you not started Eddie Nketiah? Why are you playing Kai Havertz? Why is Thomas Partey playing right back? Why aren't you playing Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, Oleksandr Zinchenko in a back four?
"Put in a midfield of Partey, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard and then Bukayo Saka, Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli. That's the team that Arsenal should be playing. I just don't understand the team that he played against Fulham.
"Arsenal fans will agree that Havertz isn't working. Stop playing Partey at right-back and play him in centre-mid. Give Rice the authority to make forward runs with Odegaard. I just don't understand it."
Arteta's tinkered with his tactics over the summer with Arsenal heading into the 2023/24 Premier League campaign with a brand new identity.
However, the start to the new season has been slow and some of the Spaniard's experiments were not working in the 2–2 draw against Fulham on Saturday.
