Arsenal ‘identify’ two surprise Jurrien Timber replacements - both play in the Championship

Jurrien Timber's injury on his Premier League debut could potentially force Arsenal into signing a new defender.

Although the Gunners got their Premier League campaign off to a winning start by overcoming Nottingham Forest, the three points came at a cost.

According to reports, Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters and Leicester City's Timothy Castagne are being considered.

Arsenal will wait to see the results of the Timber tests before considering going into the market.

Though, cheaper signings or even loan signings could be the perfect option if Timber is injured for a number of months, and Walker-Peters and Castagne both fit those profiles.

However, with Alex Zinchenko recently returning from injury, the Gunners may not need a new signing.

Arsenal already have Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Cedric Soares who can all play at the right. Kieran Tierney is an option on the left.
