'Is that a joke?': Turkish club lowball Arsenal on one player — top Gooners are confused

Besiktas have made an offer of just €2.5 million to sign Rob Holding this summer, according to The Athletic.

Even though the 27-year-old defender is not a first-team regular at Arsenal, the amount offered by the Turkish side is simply insulting.

Holding has a contract until the summer of 2024 (with an option for another season) and Emirates supporters want Besiktas' bid to be rejected as soon as possible.

TheGoldenPineapples (via /r/Gunners): "Is that a joke? €2.5m is embarrassingly low."

_deep_blue_: "£8-12m is about right. It'll take time for us to shake the reputation as a club you can lowball successfully but the Xhaka deal is a step in the right direction."

sandbag-1: "Holding has been with us for 7 years and this was the only season where he was genuinely bad, which happened because the system has evolved beyond his capabilities."

sengunner: "He is still a decent defender provided you donэt ask him to play the way we play currently, he also is usually good in a back 3 when you can hide a lot of his flaws"

Cold_Dawn95: "Everyone is talking about the lowball offer, but do people actually think Holding would want to go to the Turkish League?"

Anhowa123: "Christ, we really can't sell our squad players well — should be laughed at as a fee. Holding would do a job for a bunch of Prem level clubs in a lower block / that require less build up play. Reckon anywhere around £8-12m would be fair? Don't think he's on big wages."
