Alex Iwobi names Arsenal player who is 'a joke right now'

Speaking on players eligible to play for Nigeria but decided to represent England instead,

 and Fikayo Tomori decided to play for Nigeria instead of England), 

"They are doing well. Saka is a joke right now. He’s good. Look at his numbers. He’s good.”

He has played every single game in the Premier League for 

 this season with a return of 24 goals and assists.

Since making his debut for the Three Lions in 2020, the 21-year-old has scored eight goals including three at the last World Cup in Qatar.

 dribbling ability almost got him in trouble with the senior 

“When he first came up to train [in the] first team [he] never complained. All the players gave him that respect because he was doing his thing in training,” said Iwobi.

“I know some players will get a bit offended because it’s like a young man dribbling past. The thing is, a lot of Arsenal youngsters are cold and he was raw then. So that left foot just jinky mi jinky go past a few, man.

“Now he’s doing it on a consistent basis. We’ve seen it. I’ve seen it anyway.” Not only is he a great player, he’s humble as well. 

“Like he was eager to learn, he listens [and] doesn’t argue back. For example, he treats the dinner ladies the same way he’ll treat us, man.”

Saka made his senior debut for the club in November 2018 in a UEFA Europa League match against Vorskla Poltava. His Premier League debut followed on January 1 2019 against Fulham, a game he replaced Iwobi. 

The Nigerian has since moved to Everton while Saka has developed into one of the club's most important players.

Speaking to The Beautiful Game Podcast about the 

 player he feels has been extremely impactful as of late, ex-Gooner 

“He’s another one who is a joke in training. With him like, he just has that raw ability. I have to give it to him because he’s had to be patient. But every time he’s come on to play, he’s delivered.

“I think he’s been the most impactful sub at Arsenal this season. For someone to be able to do that and not play regularly and still have that elite mindset, I have to rate it.”

Nelson has been in impressive form for the Gunners as of late, winning over a lot of fans after his incredible last-minute winner against 

Despite his resurgence, the 23-year-old’s contract is set to expire in June and Arsenal are yet to extend his deal.
