Highly-rated teenager set for Europa League action revealed, not Nwaneri

Teenager Zack Awe could make his Arsenal debut in the Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday. Awe was part of Mikel Arteta's training squad for the game.

Born in January 2004, Awe is a commanding, ball-playing centre-back. He was named on the bench for the Premier League win at Wolves in February 2022,  having continued his development at a rapid rate last term.

He played 17 times across all competitions for the youth sides, flaunting an impressive passing range and leadership qualities. Awe is also comfortable in defensive midfield.

Although it will be a surprise if he features against Bodo/Glimt, Awe seems ready for the spotlight. He is a regular fixture for the under-21s, starting every game in Premier League 2 this season.

Arteta has already shown a knack for giving opportunities to youngsters. 15-year-old Ethan Nwaneri was handed his Gunners debut last month.
