Saka & Saliba get major FIFA 23 upgrades & 3 latest under-radar stories at Arsenal

Arsenal's rejection of young Haaland

Back when a young Erling Haaland first plied his trade at Molde, Arsenal were among the English clubs monitoring him.

Former Molde chief scout John Vik told The Athletic: "When they were seeing a big striker like Erling, they were seeing a target man and I think they forgot to look at what else he could do. Liverpool could have got him. Arsenal could have got him. Everyone was there to watch him but these clubs were seeing a No 9 who was tall and broad and, 'Oh, he’s going to be a target man'.

Saka and Saliba get FIFA 23 upgrades

Bukayo Saka and William Saliba have both seen upgrades in their overall ratings in FIFA 23.

The English winger is ranked 82 in FIFA 23 (as compared to 80 in FIFA 22) - while the defender has received a +5 upgrade on his car after being rated 75 in the last game.

Iwobi backed to return and impress Arteta

Speaking on his podcast, Ian Wright explained: "I'm so pleased with the way it's going for him [Alex Iwobi]. I remember Arsenal fans, they ridiculed him.

"His ball progression and work rate, what Frank [Lampard] has now recognised him and put him there. Listen to the Everton fans when he's doing his work, they are adoring him now. It's the kind of intensity that Mikel [Arteta] wants now and needs now, we need that, we need somebody who can press like that."

Arsenal goalkeeper Hein gets international call-up

Arsenal's young goalkeeper Karl Hein has received a call-up from Estonia for their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.

Incidentally, the 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for the Gooners and was on the bench in the 2-1 win over FC Zurich last week.
