- Folarin Balogun's primary concern is lack of playing time: he has only made 5 substitute appearances in 2020/21.
- Initial negotiations for a contract renewal were led by Huss Fahmy but the offer he's made was not substantially different to the one Edu made afterwards.
- Balogun is represented by the same agency - Elite Project Group - as Bukayo Saka and, more importantly, Eddie Nketiah.
- Eddie's situation is more stable, as the youngster gets regular minutes and his contract runs out in 18 months, and this blocks Balogun's path.
- Arsenal stand to lose out financially if Folarin goes abroad too, as the fee for him would be lower than the one in England.
