"I think Pepe has come a long way. We know what the club paid for him when he joined and that was obviously an extra pressure but he's a player who's had to adapt, it's a different style," Mikel Arteta told the club's official website.
"He has a really good attitude. We can see improvements in a lot of phases of his game. He's very settled here, he's liked by the boys, he's a really good character to have around and I'm really positive that we're going to have him for many years and that he can perform at a really high level consistently."
Pepe managed 8 goals and 10 assists over 45 appearances in his debut season in English football. The winger made large strides in the right direction as Arsenal faced Sheffield, Man City and Chelsea on their road to FA Cup glory.
However, questions were raised with regards to Pepe's overall consistency and output as he struggled to establish himself as a regular member of the starting XI. He was in and out of the side under Emery, Ljungberg and now Arteta.
