In a somewhat amusing twist, former Arsenal youngster Ismael Bennacer could join Man City this summer, after Pep Guardiola made contact with the midfielder, according to French media outlet RMC Sport.
Citizens could apparently pay up to £45m for the midfielder, which makes it all the more astonishing if true. However, RMC claim City are fighting against PSG for Bennacer's signature, which could explain the astronomical transfer sum named.

Bennacer joined Arsenal in 2015, at the age of just 17, from the French side Arles. The holding midfielder never made his senior debut for the Gunners and left for Serie B side Empoli in 2017.
He's gone on to make 92 appearances for them across 3 seasons and earned a transfer to AC Milan last summer, cementing his place as a starter in Stefano Pioli's team.
We'll be honest with you and admit that we barely registered the lad during his time at Arsenal, although he was very young and has certainly kicked on since leaving. Will be interesting to see whether City do indeed rate him as highly as the report suggests.
