Arsenal reportedly keep track of Polish sensation compared to De Bruyne

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are interested in Lech Poznan wonderkid Filip Marchwinski.

The Gunners face some serious competition as Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Internazionale, Juventus and Atalanta are eager to land the midfielder as well.

The same source also claims that the 18-year-old has been on trial at Arsenal but does not specify when that took place and why the North Londoners opted against signing him at that time.

Marchwinski made his senior debut at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 6 days, becoming the youngest ever player to feature for Lech Poznan.

This season, he has made 11 appearances in the Ekstaklasa but has played a role similar to that of Eddie Nketiah at Leeds United: a late-game substitution.

Despite limited time (only 248 minutes spread across 11 games), the youngster has scored two goals.

He has been compared to Kevin de Bruyne and Josip Ilicic due to his passing ability, dribbling and clever positioning.

Marchwinski's preferred position is that of an attacking midfielder but he is adept at playing as a centre-forward or a false nine.
