'I'm fine now, but it was a good hit': Daniele Rugani provides coronavirus update

The 25-year-old's recovery is going well, with the Juventus defender recording a video message thanking everyone for their support.

"First of all I want to say that I am fine, I've been quite well, I have not had the serious symptoms we read about," The Italian told Juventus' TV channel.

"I consider myself lucky. But it was quite a hit because I was the first player infected. Beyond that, I had no problems, I hope it helped to make everyone aware, even those who did not understand the seriousness of this problem.

"The media impact was very strong, many people immediately wrote to me. I thank those who have been close to me, I am sorry not to have answered everyone. But you can rest assured that I am fine, I will overcome this too and I hope I can start again as soon as possible."

It has been confirmed on Tuesday that Blaise Matuidi became the second Juventus player who tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, UEFA have announced its intent to finish the 2019/20 season by June 30 following the massive coronavirus-related suspensions across Europe.
