Calciomercato: Arsenal still interested in Demiral but Juventus don't want to sell

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano of Calciomercato, Arsenal are still in the race for Merih Demiral.

The Turkey international who plays for Juventus is also monitored by Leicester City, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.

The Bianconeri do not want to part company with the centre-back whom they consider 'a core part of the future'.

The 21-year-old has struggled for playing time this season with Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci ahead in the pecking order.

This is not the first time Arsenal are linked with Demiral. In January, it was claimed that the Gunners were 'in pole position' to land the defender (Fotomac). However, the Old Lady were 'not interested' in letting Merih go (Goal).

Earlier this week, Sokratis hinted at his potential summer exit. Thus, Arsenal's back-four will probably need a replacement and while Dayot Upamecano is believed to be the Gunners' main target, the club are looking for other options.

Demiral has been out of action since January after rupturing his ACL. He's expected to return to full fitness in the summer but is probably going to miss the Euro 2020.
