Leo Messi scores THREE goals for Argentina, beats Pele record, cries on the pitch

It was quite an eventful night for Lionel Messi on Thursday with Argentina beating Bolivia 3–0 in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward scored a hat-trick, breaking Pele's record to become the leading goalscorer in South American history with 78 goals.

The 34-year-old was also finally able to present the 2021 Copa America trophy to Argentina fans because the summer's tournament in Brazil was held behind the scenes.

Tearful Messi said after the game: "I dreamed a lot about this day and thank God it came. I have no words to thank you for all the love received. What a beautiful night, I really enjoyed it. Unforgettable."
