Football match in Turkey stopped so that players could do their Ramadan fast - video goes viral

In a recent football match in Turkey, players chose to break their fast for the holy month of Ramadan right there on the pitch.

GZT Giresunspor and Ankara Keciorengucu took on each other in a game that ended 2-1. However, when a player picked up an injury, some of the others sat down and broke their fasts.

One of them was seen eating a banana while others had nuts and other types of snacks.

It goes on for about 10 minutes before they return to their respective positions and resume the game. An unusual yet endearing moment indeed!

Man United game censored more than 100 times in Iran because of female referee's legs

The Premier League game between Tottenham and Man United on Sunday was censored over 100 times by the Islamic Republic of Iran's state broadcaster.

One of the fixture's officials was Sian Massey-Ellis, one of the few female officials in the men's game. Naturally, as every other referee or assistant referee, she was wearing shorts during the match.

However, Itan's state-run TV channels are not allowed to show women's bare knees which is why they cut away from the game so often.

Instead of Massey-Ellis' knees, the Iranian viewers saw the backstreets of London which prompted one of the commentators to say that he hoped the viewers enjoyed the geographic show, according to My Stealthy Freedom.

The only question is why we learn about a situation like this now: Massey-Ellis has been an assistant referee in the Premier League for over a decade already.

'I have always wanted to participate'. Neymar reveals ambitious plans for his post-football career

Neymar is an avid fan on poker and the Brazilian was named the cultural ambassador of PokerStars earlier this week.

The 29-year-old used to play Gerard Pique during his time at Barcelona and his partners at Paris Saint-Germain include Keylor Navas and Leandro Paredes.

Speaking to CNEWS, the Brazilian forward said: "It's true, it's true. It's one of the things I love to do the most. I want to become a professional poker player when I finish my football career.

"I think that after playing football I will be able to do tournaments, travel to play in those in which I have always wanted to participate and have never been able to because of my schedule.

"Among the similarities between poker and football, I think focus is one of them. The way you read your opponent and the game is also very important. I think one of the most important things in football, is to read the game.

"You have to read your opponent, and see where you can attack, where you can move to create a chance for your team. And in poker it's the same, you have to read the game, read your opponents and know the right time to attack."

However, it's clear that Neymar isn't thinking about retiring from football just yet. The Brazilian's PSG side are now set to face Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals after beating Bayern Munich.
