Real Madrid ease past Cadiz to leave them on verge of Laliga title
A much rotated Real Madrid side strengthened their grip on the La Liga crown with a hard-fought win against Cádiz.
The hosts dominated the early part of the game without creating too much. While they could have been behind heading into the interval only for Escalante to head wide when well placed.
They were much better after half time though, and took a deserved lead through Brahim Diaz, who curled home an excellent effort from the edge of the penalty area, leaving Ledesma stranded in the Cádiz goal.
20 minutes from time, any concerns about the result were put to bed when Jude Bellingham, who had only just come on, grabbed a second goal for his side and moved to within one of the division’s top scorer.
The Englishman won the ball back to start the move, before ghosting into the six yard box to tap home and seal all three points for his side. In the dying seconds, Spanish striker Joselu added the icing to the cake with a tap in after some great work from Nacho Fernandez.
The result means that Los Blancos can be confirmed as La Liga champions as early as this evening, should Barcelona come away from their clash with third placed Girona with anything less than three points.
