Barcelona have decided to bet big on Pau Cubarsi with a massive contract set to secure the player's future until 2029.
Spanish outlet Diario AS have leaked details of Barca's contract for Cubarsi showing they are offering the 17-year-old €4m per year net salary — it doesn't stop there.
Cubarsi's salary will not be fixed at €4m, the report says he will only earn that amount next year. The defender's earnings will increase yearly until it reaches €12m in his final year. The Spaniard will be 22 at that point.
What's more, Barca will set Cubarsi's buyout clause at €1bn. The club could reduce it to €500m on request.
Cubarsi will sign this gigantic eye-watering contract in January next year when he turns 18.
Cubarsi has been the revelation of this season for Barca with the swashbuckling teenager making 15 starts in which he barely put a foot wrong. That was enough to earn him his first senior cap for Spain.
