Rodrygo, who found the back of the net twice on Sunday, was bombarded with questions about the Frenchman's potential move to Bernabeu and how it might affect his role in the team.
The Brazilian stayed professional and answered to the question in the coldest way possible.
"Mbappe to Madrid? I trust you on this, you always know best. I don’t know what’s going on.
"Where would he play next season and will I benched if he comes? It's not my problem. It will be a problem for the coach. I’m only focused on Real Madrid.
"I am really happy with scoring tonight, but even more happy with [Eder] Militao's comeback."
With his brace against the Basques, Rodrygo has now tallied 15 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances for Madrid this season.
