Fran Garcia in for potental promotion for Spain after Jordi Alba decision

As per Marca, former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has decided to retire from international football.

He is unlikely to continue with Spain and that can mean good news for Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia.

With his exit, Garcia is expected to feature in the left-back position more prominently for Spain.

He could even become La Roja’s new first-choice left-back if able to perform at a high level.

However, he will need to perform really well to fend off competition from the likes of Barca man Alejandro Balde, Jose Gaya and Alfonso Pedraza.

Garcia has started all three games for Real Madrid this season, putting in some solid performances.
