Kieran McKenna was part of Man United's coaching setup for five years, including over three years as a first-team coach under Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and even Ralf Rangnick for a bit.
In December 2021, he left Old Trafford for his first job as a head coach at League One side Ipswich Town.
A year and a half later, McKenna and his team celebrated automatic promotion to the Championship after finishing second.
Now, they have also finished second, already in the Championship — which means they'll play in the Premier League next season.
Ipswich ended the season on 96 points, just a point behind Championship winners Leicester.
McKenna who deservedly won the Manager of the Year award in the Championship will certainly attract a lot of eyes. Not bad for someone who started at Man United as a youth coach.
