Man United to pay legal costs if Dan Ashworth's standoff with Newcastle escalates

As per The Athletic, Manchester United will shell out the legal arbitration costs Dan Ashworth may incur if a third party steps in to settle the dispute with Newcastle United.

Ashworth wishes to join Man United as sporting director immediately but Newcastle have placed him on gardening leave.

They are demanding a huge compensation package worth £20 million to allow Ashworth to serve his notice period.

Man United have made their stance clear: they have refused to shell out a huge fee as ransom to get Ashworth.

The Athletic understands Ashworth is frustrated at the situation and may seek legal intervention. In that case, Man United will provide financial support and wait a little longer to get their man.
