Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season, as per multiple top outlets.
Amorim has guided Sporting to the Primeira Liga title and two Portuguese League Cups since taking charge in 2020.
In what will be his final season with the Portuguese giants, Amorim is once again leading the race to lift the title.
Bruno Fernandes left Sporting before Amorim was appointed but that didn't stop him from admiring the man's talent.
When asked about Amorim's success at a press conference, the Manchester United captain replied, quoted by The Metro: "If he really takes the next step – I hope he stays at Sporting – but if he takes the next step, I think all the qualities are there to be able to succeed in English, French, or Spanish football.
"Obviously, we know that the Premier League is probably the most desired. The qualities [to succeed in England] are there and he has everything to take the next step, in my opinion."
