Andre Onana – 8
If not for Onana, Man United would've suffered a real battering. Looked sharp in his goal and albeit his luck to see multiple shots hit the post, Big Andre also made a string of impressive saves – including a huge double save in the second half. Perhaps unlucky not to get a clean sheet.
Mason Mount – 8
Mount probably couldn’t have chosen a better game to score his first Man United goal in the Premier League. He came on for the final bits of the game but added some much-needed energy and tenacity with his sharp movement. Then popped up in the right place to score a goal that should’ve been the winner unless for his teammate's clownery immediately afterwards.
Kobbie Mainoo – 7
Mainoo kept up his good performance levels with another respectable outing in a game where he received little support. Completed 37/42 passes and also made six possession recoveries, refusing to let Brentford’s press hassle and helping his side play the ball out of the back nicely.
Spider-Wan continued his impressive work as a makeshift left-back and worked overtime to keep things as quiet as possible. Made five clearances, nine possession recoveries and won 8/8 ground duels too.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Bruno lacked that creative spark to really open up the Brentford backline and despite creating a few half-chances, he failed to inspire Man United going forward. Lost the ball in some bad areas at times and struggled defensively, only winning 2/7 duels.
Alejandro Garnacho – 4.5
Garnacho looked ruffled on the right and failed to make any of his terrorizing darting runs through the wide areas. Was totally isolated by the Brentford defenders and taken off early in the second half after a subdued performance.
Rasmus Hojlund – 4
The Danish forward had a frustrating outing against a stringent Brentford backline. He was just not involved as one would like him to be and failed to link up to create anything special. Had a big chance saved in the second half but was quite invisible apart from that.
Marcus Rashford – 3.5
Rashford was a frustrating figure to watch as he failed to cause any danger through that left flank. Despite creating some half-chances, he only had one shot attempt easily saved and was regularly dispossessed in key areas – ruining Man United’s attacks.
