In a recent interview with The United Stand, Rasmus Hojlund was asked if he’d prefer to be assisted for a goal with a David Beckham-style cross or a pass from Paul Scholes.
He replied: “If we’re just talking about them two, I think probably Paul Scholes to be fair. I love a right-foot cross from the side but yeah I think Paul Scholes could do them no-look passes very very nicely to play in behind.
“Yeah, I’ve always loved the goal where I’m running towards the goal. So yeah I think Paul Scholes probably.”
Incidentally, Hojlund is actually yet to score from a header in the Premier League for Man United since arriving in the summer and all his goals so far have been using his feet.
It seems like his preference to get the ball to his feet in the final third, which allows him to score goals with efficiency. He has, although, been frustrated at times by his teammates at Old Trafford with lack of service in the box.
Hojlund has recovered well from a slow start at Man United, and now has four goals from as many appearances in the year 2024 so far.
