Gore backed to succeed in League One

Discussing Dan Gore's loan move to League One club Port Vale, former Man United midfielder David May told club media: "He's a tough kid. I'm sure he'll be alright in that arena but I think it's vitally important to get out there.

"Yes, he's taken a step back, well a step sideways, for him. But it's what he'll learn off the senior pros as well, training day in and day out with them, and what it's really like to play down there.

"It is tough but he'll thrive off it because he's a good player. It's part and parcel of the game but he'll be absolutely fine there."
