Despite already securing Champions League qualification for next year with a top-four finish, the Reds are aware of recent setbacks.
Harvey Elliott noted that losses to Crystal Palace and Everton, along with being knocked out of the Europa League by Atalanta in the quarter-finals, have been disappointing. However, the midfielder emphasized that there's still plenty of motivation within Klopp's squad to finish the season on a positive note.
Elliott told Liverpoolfc.com: "The last couple of weeks haven’t gone the way we wanted them to, but unfortunately that’s part of football."
"We haven’t been good enough, we haven’t made our chances count. We’ve reflected on it, we’ve studied it and we all know as a team that we need to go out now and put it right – not only for us, but for the fans, for the gaffer and for everyone else."
"Our performances haven’t been the best and I feel like this weekend is a great opportunity, especially at home [because] it’s been a long time since we had a home game."
