'One striker injured, another a father': Klopp on reasons for Everton defeat

Liverpool suffered a 2-0 defeat away at Everton. Jurgen Klopp blamed poor finishing and the lack of available strikers for the defeat.

“We had a bit of (momentum) after the Fulham game,” the German said post-match.

“One of our strikers is injured, the other is now hopefully a father, it means we cannot really change up front. There was situations where we pretty much shot at Pickford or kicked the ball over the goal.

“We tried. In the end it is not good enough. If you win you have 500 reasons, if you lose - just not good enough. That's how it is.”

Diogo Jota sustained an injury before the game while Cody Gakpo missed the game as his partner was in labour.
