Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed that Jurgen Klopp was a big factor in his move to Anfield last summer. He says he would have joined Liverpool anyway though.
"If Liverpool want to sign you, you're not thinking about anything (else)," the Hungarian told Astro Super Sport, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
"But having Jurgen Klopp as the manager is an extra (lure), of course. He called me, we had a good talk before I signed and he said he wants me and I said I want to join you, so it's a quick decision."
Now the German is set to leave the club after the end of the season.
"This is football, this is how it works," Szoboszlai said of Klopp's decision. "He's going to leave and have some break and enjoy his life. He's done this (the Liverpool job) for a very long time.
"We don't know who is coming next but we are ready - it doesn't matter who is coming."
