Alisson or Kelleher? Klopp hints at who'll start in League Cup final

Liverpool are through to the League Cup final. They will face Chelsea on February 25.

Back in 2022, the Reds faced the Blues in the final and won 11-10 on penalties. Caoimhin Kelleher played the whole tournament, including the final.

Asked if that would be the case this time, Jurgen Klopp hinted that the Irishman would be between the sticks at Wembley, not Alisson.

“Caoimhin is a top, top goalkeeper. I want to desperately give him opportunities to play, he deserves it,” the boss said, as quoted by DaveoOckop.

Kelleher has been subject to criticism this season. Against Fulham in the second leg of the semi-final, he committed a mistake that almost cost Liverpool a goal — fortunately, Andreas Pereira hit the post.
