Wilder sarcastically thanks fixture list for Liverpool game

Chris Wilder has been appointed Sheffield United manager just before the Liverpool game. He said ahead of the clash: "It's not a great situation, everybody knows that.

"It is the best league in the world and we are playing Liverpool first game up, so thanks very much for the fixture list!

"But 30-odd thousand [fans] under the lights at Bramall Lane on a Wednesday night against arguably one of the best teams in Europe - it's a tough start but hopefully one we can go and attack, and have a right good go.

"That's going to be the attitude from me and the players - to hopefully reignite the supporters because there has been a little bit of a disconnect, especially over the last two games."

Gravenberch talks start to life at Liverpool

“I am happy with it. Of course, I can improve and do better but I think the start I made is OK. [I want to] just be important for the team,” Ryan Gravenberch told Liverpool's official website.

“I played a lot at Ajax, so I had the confidence there as well. [Now] with Jürgen Klopp, he gave me good confidence and I am just enjoying being on the pitch again.

“I think all do well. Of course, if you come here it is a little bit difficult but I think every midfield player has shown we want to give everything and we want to adapt quickly. I think if you have seen us playing, we’re doing it OK!”

Ox praises Szoboszlai

“I've really enjoyed watching Dominik Szoboszlai,” Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain told Sky Sports.

“He's sort of taken over from my sort of role and I'm really impressed with how good of a player he is and that he plays the game, how I sort of always want to play the game.

“I think he's got so much ability, physicality and just his character as a player. I think he's just what we needed in there. He's been really, really good.”
