'This guy is shameless': Liverpool fans fuming as Michael Owen's video from 2011 doing rounds online

There have been many times when Liverpool fans got angry with Michael Owen. The man has said and done enough to infuriate the Reds supporters. They even launched a petition against him being the LFC ambassador back in 2017.

These days, Liverpool fans are fuming again as Owen's interview from 2011 is doing rounds on social media.

After winning the Premier League with Manchester United, the striker was asked to share his thoughts on lifting the trophy and he literally said: "Well, if you can't beat them, join them!"

Here's how fans, including some Man United supporters, reacted to that on X (formerly Twitter):

AceC: "Insanely shameless"

CupidKay95: "Ffs Owen really said this?? F***ing hell, he's no way a Liverpool legend in my books"

Dan K Valentine: "Man United fans don’t like him either. You're either a Liverpool Red or a Red Devil. Can’t be a fan of both"

Fafo: "Holy cringe, how have Liverpool fans not clogged him yet"

Back-Bandika: "This guy is shameless!"

Burdy: "He's definitely up there as being one of football's absolute weirdos."

Interestingly, Michael is still Liverpool's ambassador.
