Liverpool's biggest strength in Newcastle win shown in lineup - it's not goalscorers

For the second time in a row, Liverpool won a Premier League game 2-0 this Saturday. This time, the Reds defeated Newcastle thanks to goals from Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.

This win, however, would've been impossible without Alisson Becker's heroics. The goalkeeper was voted as the Man of the Match by the Liverpool fans - and deservedly so.

According to Sofascore, Alisson made four saves. All of them were made on shots from inside the penalty area.

Moreover, two of those episodes were qualified as 'big chances': one for Miguel Almiron when the score was still 0-0, and another for Callum Wilson already after the goals.

One more key contribution that is not reflected in the numbers was Alisson's trademark long-distance pass to Mo Salah which led to a red card for his opposite number Nick Pope.

It looks like Alisson is back to his best - which will be massively helpful to Liverpool ahead of the return of the Champions League and the first clash with Real Madrid on Tuesday.
