 clubs will be able to name nine players on the bench this season, as per multiple inside sources, including the Athletic. 

Premier League managers met on Thursday to discuss and vote on the idea. Again, it was said that the majority of PL gaffers favoured the idea. 

 was among the biggest advocates of the change.

Last season, clubs were allowed 5 substitutions, to enable teams to ease their players into action after the COVID break.  

However, with the change, only 3 substitutions will be allowed, with 2 more subs allowed only in the event of a concussion.

As per Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, FIFA are trying out a new football system with a lot of drastic changes to the game we love.

1) 2 halves with 30 minutes each, reducing it from the current 45-minute system

2) The game clock stops when the ball goes out of play - a similar system works in the NBA right now.

4) Throw-ins will be played with feet rather than hands, making them kick-ins. 

5) 5 minute suspension for a yellow card - the player will be out of the game for this duration before he can check back in.

This new system is currently being used in a youth competition called Future Of Football Cup as an experiment.

We're not sure if these rules will be implemented across the sport but it's something to keep an eye out on.

UEFA 'set to scrap' Financial Fair Play rules, clubs will have more control over their finances

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, UEFA are 'set to scrap' Financial Fair Play rules soon.

The decade-old regulations were set to ensure that European clubs were not spending more than what they are earning - this was to prevent clubs from falling into financial troubles which may endanger their long-term survival.

However, UEFA are now in favour of a 'radical overhaul' that will allow clubs with greater flexibility with regards to their spending power.

Other details regarding the rules will be discussed on Friday in a video conference call with the European Parliament.

The report adds that should the various parties (including the EU lawyers) agree to the new reforms, an adaptation period will then be set in motion.

The Italian outlet details the new system as one that will 'transition from the idea of ''spending as much as you collect'' to ''spending what is necessary without waste.''' 

Technically, clubs can be kicked out of European competitions if they are found to breach FFP rules - however, 

escaped any major punishment for the same.

Liverpool have not spent a lot since winning the 

 back in 2018 - it remains to be seen whether this possible rule change will affect the Reds positively.

FIFA is trying kill the game we love why do they have to change all the rules that were there for decade 30min of each halve doesn’t make sense so football match will only play 60min they need to think again if a team got 2 yellow card team will play with 9players for 20min 🤔🤔

It’s all about making money ‘under the table’ that’s all UEFA and FIFA bothered about lining their own pockets under the table.. Platini and Blatter got caught doesn’t mean to say the current lot are not the same

Yes I think the 9 subs on bench is great idea as most players only had little rest so makes sense.  As for UEFA and FIFA I don’t have much to say as they have not got the game of football or the fans at hart here with some absolutely absurd new rules and what they want to get rid of
