📸 Reds visit Anfield for first time over two months to take part in 11v11 training game

The Liverpool squad took part in a training routine at Anfield on Monday as preparations continued ahead of the Premier League's provisional restart date later this month.

Two teams were formed as the Reds visited Anfield after over two months. Each team had 11 players and Jurgen Klopp oversaw the entire training match as the players had a great workout session in the scorching sun.

Sadio Mane and Naby Keita were both on target in keenly contested 11v11 match scenarios which were split into several segments.

Academy player such as Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott were present too.

Much to our disappointment, there's no video of the match - however, there are some images which make us happy as we can witness the Reds back in some form of action!

Hendo vs Ox? Sign us up for that battle!

It's so great to see Virgil van Dijk back in Red.

Academy talent Yasser Larouci was also taking part - too bad Keita is scoring right in front of his eyes!

Really loving the new hairstyle Alisson!

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? We'll just have to ask Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah about that!

Mane celebrates his goal as his hot run of form continues despite a two-month break.

Caoimhin Kelleher successfully saves Roberto Firmino's shot.

It just warms our heart to see the Reds back at Anfield!

Assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders told Liverpoolfc.com: “It was an unbelievable feeling to be back at this iconic stadium.

“It’s our home. Anfield is basically the second-strongest connection we have, after our own homes. We had a training week full of intense sessions and to finish it off with Anfield was just great.

“We wanted to give the players the feeling of playing and competing without a crowd. We are just going step by step back to our way of playing, knowing that we have to work hard in training and be really committed to our principles to reach the same level that we had.

“Today was an important step in that direction; firstly getting familiar with the process around the games and secondly giving our squad playing time and competition very close to the environment that we will have in the future.”

What are your thoughts on this, Reds? Let us know how happy you are down in the comments!
