'They can be strong': Bayer Leverkusen CEO tips RB Leipzig to be bigger Bundesliga title threat than Bayern Munich next season

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro is confident that his side can remain as one of the front-runners to win the 2024/25 Bundesliga title.

Speaking about who can compete with them, he told Sky Germany: “I would say we should definitely be among the favorites. We want to continue strengthening the team.

“I think Leipzig can be strong next year if they can keep players like Xavi Simons, Olmo or Openda. I already expected Leipzig to be strong this year. If I had to choose between Leipzig and Bayern, I would go with Leipzig.”

Leverkusen have already won the 2023/24 Bundesliga title, and are still unbeaten across all competitions – having the UEFA Europa League and the DFB Pokal still to compete for going forward.

Incidentally, Bayern are actually still ahead of RB Leipzig on the Bundesliga table – but that doesn’t seem to be troubling the Bundesliga champions at all.
