Where is Barca sporting director Deco?

This has arguably been the craziest week at FC Barcelona since the season started.

Multiple sources insist that the decision has already been made to sack Xavi and there was a serious meeting at the club offices to conclude on the way forward.

However, Barca's sporting director Deco was nowhere to be found in all these. Deco's conspicuous absence from such an impromptu but crunch meeting fueled rumours that he could be sacked alongside Xavi.

Deco is currently in Portugal attending to a personal matter, Diario Sport say. After the Almeria game, the football director was informed through a phone call that a new managerial search had begun at Barca and told to play his role in finding a new coach.

But it seems like Deco is not 100 per cent on board with sacking Xavi. That could explain why sources claim he could also be dismissed upon returning from his travel.

Deco only started working at Barca in September when he replaced ace director Mateu Alemany. The Brazilian-Portuguese may not be well versed in the internal politics at the club.

It's President Laporta's way or the highway at Barca and Deco might now be forced to join the moving train or get railroaded with Xavi.
