Barcelona are open to bringing in a new striker if they succeed in sending Vitor Roque on loan at the end of the season, reliable Alex Pintanel of Relevo reports.
Barca would have to convince Roque to leave this summer as the striker is reportedly refusing a loan move. However, he could change his mind considering that Xavi is less likely to give him minutes to show his talent if he insists on staying.
If Roque leaves, Barca could bring in an experienced striker as backup for Robert Lewandowski. The transfer could be a loan deal similar to the operation that brought Luuk De Jong to Barca back in 2021.
Barcelona are said to be prioritizing a loan to a Spanish club for Roque to help him adapt to life in the country.
The 19-year-old has scored two goals in as many starts for Barca in La Liga. However, he's only featured in 13 games since January and has racked up a miserly 310 minutes of playing time.
