On Sunday, March 31, Brighton faced off against Liverpool. Roberto De Zerbi's men scored first, just two minutes into the clash at Anfield but a goal from Mo Salah and Luis Diaz each put Liverpool in the lead 2-1 by the 65th minute.
Despite having half an hour to bring in some fresh legs to reinforce the attack and turn the game around, Brighton boss opted to keep Ansu Fati on the bench.
This decision didn't go well with some Culers.
🗣Cubar: "Oh, you've lost? This is what you get for not brining on Fati. Congratulations on having no Cruyffismo in you, De Zerbi."
🗣AFCB: "Absolutely shameful from De Zerbi. You are one goal down, have Ansu Fati on the bench and still not using him."
🗣BarcaBoi: "Zero managing skills. Don't let De Zerbi near my precious club club. He'll ruin it"
Earlier, De Zerbi claimed that Ansu is a'sleeping giant' and he wants to help unlock his potential. But so far, the manager's actions haven't quite matched his words.
The winger's only played 996 minutes in 26 appearances for Brighton, averaging just 36 minutes per game this season. Most of his time, Ansu finds himself on the bench.
Despite having a Barca contract until 2027, it's unlikely Fati will continue at Camp Nou next season. His limited playing time record is not helping his case either.
