De Zerbi's solution is to have Fati spend another season on loan at Brighton to bring out the best in the Spaniard.
Keeping Fati and his big wage bill away from Barcelona for another season would sound like music to the ears of Barca. Sources say the club have no intention of having him in their squad next season for obvious reasons.
Fati hasn't improved his market value at Brighton with two-thirds of the season already gone. He's suffered injuries and has scored just 4 goals in his 26 appearances in all competitions.
There are 10 games for the 21-year-old to change the narrative about him in both England. The time is short for Fati and it's unlikely he will do it. That's why De Zerbi's idea would suit Barca perfectly.
As for De Zerbi coming to replace Xavi at Barca, that seems highly unlikely now. Barca are still hoping that Xavi will stay and De Zerbi has a contract at Brighton that makes it difficult for him to leave.
