Inter Miami have beaten Sporting Kansas City 3-2 while Leo Messi was away on international duty.

Sergio Busquets assisted one of the goals.

This was Miami's first match without the Argentine after the latter signed for the MLS club – and they did quite well, even coming from behind at one point.

Messi, in turn, didn't feature in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Bolivia on Tuesday, having suffered some sort of discomfort. He was watching the game from the bench, though. Argentina won 3-0.

Next up, Inter Miami will take on Atlanta United on Saturday, September 16. Messi should be fit for the game.
