Barcelona are about to make a major loss on Ousmane Dembele after he completes a move to PSG.
As per reliable sources, the Blaugrana are able to get only 54% of the €50m fee agreed on the transfer.
That means they’ll bag just over €25m for him. As a reminder, Barca signed him in 2017 for €105m plus €40m in add-ons.
As a result, they’re going to make a major loss on his sale. One Barca fan is infuriated at the club’s inability to sell players for profit, as @NealGardner_ tweeted: “Barça ended up taking what, a €300m net loss on Griezmann, Coutinho, and Dembele?
“And as if that was grim enough, each of the three players *somehow* managed to add insult to injury. Griezmann, by going back to Atleti and becoming the best player in the league.
“Coutinho, by scoring a literal brace against us, whilst being EMPLOYED by us. And Dembele, by being injured for 40% of his 7 seasons at the club.
“This, right here, is Bartomeu’s legacy. The epitome of ‘it doesn’t get worse than this’.”
In all fairness, there is little debate about this fan. Barca have not been able to sell players properly in recent years and made heavy losses on multiple ones since selling Neymar to PSG in 2017.
